Buddy is Home Now
It’s been just over a week, and Buddy’s absence has really been noticed. I actually didn’t think I was all that attached to him, as he was really Mary’s dog, but I’ve been surprised at how much I’m missing that dog.
The funny thing is that Sasha (the youngest Rottie) still acts as though Buddy is here and is just waiting to pounce on her when she’s doing something. (Buddy would always keep her in line, and sometimes when she’d want to go past him, she’d ask for “help” from us to do so – She’s still doing that every once in awhile as if she still senses him)
Today we received a call from Banfield stating that Buddy’s ashes and paw-print were ready for us to pick up. Mary was able to pick them up this morning, so Buddy is now back home.
We all miss you Buddy, but we know you’re having a good time!

I know how sad you are feeling right now… I remember how I felt when I brought Jake’s ashes home… Even though I was so sad and could barely stop crying… knowing that he was finally home with us gave me some comfort. Wolfie (Jake’s german shepherd brother) kept looking for Jake everywhere… He became so depressed… A month and a half later, my hubby came home with a little kitten (Nala) and Wolfie totally fell in love and was no longer depressed. They have become inseperable!

somehow the ashes seem to make it more real. buddy was truly blessed to live with such a loving family, and for sure, he’s gonna keep an eye on you guys and be with you always.

We miss you too Buddy.
And although you’re not there physically, as Sasha has shown, your presence will always be very strong with the pack. Heck, someone needs to keep things in order, don’t they?
